Laura A. Giantris

Laura Anne Giantris currently serves as Of Counsel to the firm, and brings to the practice more than fifteen years of experience in the field of EEO compliance. Ms. Giantris also serves as Senior Counsel to the Equal Employment Advisory Council (EEAC), an employer trade association specializing in EEO and affirmative action compliance.

Prior to joining NTLL, Ms. Giantris served as a senior-level advisor to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s Legal Counsel — the chief legal and policy advisor to the Commission responsible for overseeing the development of EEOC regulations, enforcement guidance, and technical assistance materials. Ms. Giantris also served for a time as a Special Assistant to former EEOC Chair Cari M. Dominguez, providing advice on a variety of matters, including policy development, Commission litigation, amicus participation, and public relations.

Before joining the EEOC in January 2001, Ms. Giantris was associated with the management-side law firms of Piper Rudnick LLP and Venable LLP where she represented employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. She received her B.A. in History, summa cum laude, from Clark University and her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, where she also served on the Executive Editorial Board of the Maryland Law Review. Between college and law school, Ms. Giantris was an investigator at the EEOC’s Washington Field Office.
